Orfeas Filippopoulos is a PhD candidate at the Department of Digital Industry Technologies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds an integrated BSc & MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, where he specialized in artificial intelligence, distributed systems, and embedded computing. During his undergraduate and graduate studies, he served for four years as Avionics Lead Engineer at White Noise. His professional experience spans defense technology and quantitative finance. At Hellenic Drones, he worked on computer vision and edge AI systems for defense applications. His research interests and expertise include computer vision for defense applications, autonomous and intelligent systems, real-time edge AI, distributed and cloud-native computing, high-performance systems, and the integration of software and hardware across sensing, perception, decision-making, and actuation layers.
