Nikolaos Stavrou is a PhD student at the Department of Digital Industry Technologies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Before this, he earned an integrated BSc & MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, specializing in control, robotics, and machine learning. His career spans research and industry: he began as a research assistant at the Roboskel Robotics Lab (NCSR "Demokritos"), where he combined transfer learning with reinforcement learning to improve human–robot collaborative interactions, then worked as a Robotics Software Engineer at Delian Alliance Industries, leading planning and control development and real-time edge AI for mission-critical defense robotics. His expertise lies in robotic planning and control, real-time edge AI and embedded autonomy, and system integration across sensing, perception, and actuation layers.
