In late 2024, Shanghai Jiao Tong University published the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, usually referred to as the Shanghai List, which is the 2024 ranking of world Universities in specific subject disciplines across five broad fields.

According to the 2024 Shanghai List, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is ranked within places 101-150 in the subject of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, that effectivelycorresponds to 3 NKUA’s Departments, namelythe Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, the Department ofDigital Industry Technologies, and the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (see Table 1). It is notable, that in the same subject these three Departments are ranked in the top 20 places among EU Universities.
