F. N. Koumboulis is with the Department of Digital Industry Technologies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens where he is Professor of Robotics and Industrial Automation. He serves as Director of the Robotic, Automatic Control and Cyber-Physical Systems Laboratory. He has served as Head of the Department of Automation and Dean of the School of Technological Applications. He has published over 300 research papers in journals, conferences and edited books. He is editor of the scientific journals Frontiers in Control Engineering and International Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control. His current interests include industrial control, robot control systems, multivariable control, distributed control systems, networked control systems, robust control, supervisory control, switching systems and cyberphysical systems. He is an IEEE Senior member. He received the 1991/92 IEE Mather Premium Award, the 2002/03 Coaless Award, and the "2023 Olympiad Medal" (International Olympiad Committee in Engineering Science). He is included in the Node of Academic and Scientific Excellence of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs.
